Educational Visits
The Ursuline Academy has a proud tradition of organizing visits and trips that enhance learning, deepen cultural understanding, build character, and enrich the lives of our students. Our dedicated staff are passionate about providing experiences that go beyond the classroom, inspiring students to explore, discover, and grow.
A Diverse Range of Trips
We offer a wide variety of trips across different subjects to inspire and engage our students:
- Art Trips: Visits to National Galleries and The Curwen Press.
- STEM Adventures: Excursions to the EXCEL Centre, London City Airport, and Williams Formula 1.
- Cultural Visits: Regular trips to theatres, museums, and the British Film Institute for Drama students.
- PE Activities: Including tournaments, fixtures, and adventurous outdoor experiences such as overnight camping.
In 2025, students can look forward to two major international trips:
- Iceland – An opportunity to explore its breathtaking landscapes and learn about environmental and geological sciences.
- NASA, United States – A unique educational experience with space science exploration and STEM workshops.
Additionally, a trip to France will allow students to immerse themselves in French culture and further their French GCSE studies.
Cultural Capital
We are committed to offering opportunities that expand students’ horizons, such as:
- Visits to galleries and museums.
- Meetings with engineers, artists, and medical professionals.
These experiences provide valuable insights and help students connect classroom learning to real-world contexts.
Career Path Exploration
To prepare students for their future, we organize:
- Guest speakers and interactive workshops throughout the year.
- STEM-focused days and dedicated work experience programs.
- A Career Week in spring designed to develop essential life and workplace skills.
- Visits to Parliament and the Old Bailey, offering students insights into law, politics, and governance.
- A KS4 trip to Oxford University as part of our outreach program, encouraging students to aim high and consider top universities.
Students in Years 12 and 13 are also actively encouraged to attend university open days to explore potential pathways for higher education.
Commitment to Extracurricular Activities
Our school is dedicated to fostering a holistic educational experience. We participate in Maths and Science competitions with other schools and host a variety of enrichment activities. Students are constantly encouraged to broaden their horizons, discover their passions, and develop their skills.
We are proud to provide these dynamic and inspiring opportunities, ensuring that every student is equipped to engage, learn, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
