House Saints

St. Angela Merici was born on 21st March 1474 in Desenzano, Venice.  She was canonised a saint on the 24th of May 1807 and her feast day is on 27th January. We celebrate her feast day annually with a whole school mass and celebration treats. Inspired by St. Ursula she founded the Ursuline order, the oldest religious order of women in the Roman Catholic Church dedicated to the education of girls.  She died January 27, 1540, Brescia.

St. Ursula & St. Angela inspires and guides all the students at the Academy.  We also have four special saints whom we have named our houses after.  At the badge commissioning service in year 7, students are presented with SERVIAM badges in their house colours. Our house saints are: St. Catherine of Sienna, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Rose of Lima and St. Teresa of Calcutta. We celebrate their feast days with house assemblies and treats to mark these special days.
