Media Studies (A Level only)

This coming year we will be running an A Level Media Studies course to offer our 6th Form students further English–related options at this level.

This course will give students the opportunity to gain a comprehensive and integrated coverage of media theory, as well as giving them the chance to engage with new technologies and media texts, including through the creation of their own media productions within an internally assessed unit. Furthermore, Media students will have the opportunity to both investigate and research aspects of media that interest them and engage with contemporary issues and debates.

The aim of this course will be to allow students to prepare for higher education as well as a range of media-related areas by developing their own communication skills and their understanding of current affairs along with enhancing their enjoyment and appreciation of media and its role in their daily lives.
